VOLCANIC DUO: NEGRA & CHICO
The Sierra Negra volcano, the twenty-second largest caldera in the world and the oldest volcano on the island of Isabela, offers a unique trail that crosses a forest inhabited by finches and canary grasses, with a flora dominated by the Scalesia.
When you reach the summit, the view of the huge caldera reveals an almost surreal landscape, able to make you feel at the ends of the world. To the northeast is the Chico Volcano, located at about 860 meters above sea level, accessible by clearly marked trails and horse tracks.
Located to the north-west of the main caldera, this site is not affected by the constant drizzle of the south-east sector of the high areas, which allows it to remain in excellent conditions and that visitors can fully appreciate it when visibility and sun accompany it.
